Getting you to your destination

We always keep our fares in check to make sure we’re giving you the best possible value.

You can buy all our tickets, except season tickets, from the driver when you get on the bus. If you can pay the correct fare, that's always helpful, but don't worry if you're not able, or do not know the fare as the driver will usually have change to help you.

Please tell the driver your destination clearly, whether you want a single or return ticket, and if you are a child or an adult. We regret that incorrectly requested tickets cannot be refunded by the driver. We respectfully remind younger passengers that the onus of proof that you are entitled to a child’s fare is on you and not the driver.

We have a selection of tickets:

Single (One Way) Tickets

If you're just making one single journey, ask the driver for a "Single" to where you're going.

Day Return Tickets

If you're traveling anywhere and coming back on the same day, buy a "Day return", which gives you a substantial discount on the cost of two single tickets.

Children

You can get about one-third off all adult fares by asking for a "Child Single" or "Child Return". You need to be aged from 5 to 15 though, and it's up to you to prove your age to the driver if you look older.

We don't refund any fares afterwards if there is any doubt as to age at the time of boarding, or if you do not request a Child's fare.

Concessionary Pass Holders

English Concessionary pass holders (but not Scottish or Welsh pass holders) are able to travel for free on all of our buses at off-peak times. These are between the hours of 09:30 and 23:00 on week days and all day on Bank Holidays and at the weekend.

Just show your pass to the driver and tell him where you are going to travel for free!

(you must do this, please - do not hide your pass away and expect the driver to ask you for it, if a pass is not shown, full adult fare will be charged)
